A West Town Academy high school diploma is state-recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). 

West Town Academy is a member school of the Youth Connection Charter School Network, a not-for-profit educational organization, partnering with non-profit community-based organizations who have served their neighborhoods for the past 40 years. YCCS takes a holistic approach to addressing the unique challenges of students with comprehensive programs that seek to break the cycle of underachievement. Research-based strategies, models, and interventions specifically designed to reconnect students and accelerate their progress are elements of the YCCS school design. 

West Town Academy is also a member of the Alternative Schools Network (ASN), a not-for-profit organization in Chicago working to provide quality education to urban children, youth and adults.
